to form an effective teaching environment ! "ant my classroom to focus on active learning, sharing ideas, and "or#ing "ith one another My hope is that my future students do not $ust learn the material, %ut apply the material to their everyday life My "ish is that my students "ill see our classroom as a place to e&press themselves, thin# deeper a%out the "orld around them, and %e open to ne" ideas My learning centered classroom "ill focus on ma#ing the students and myself an interdependent community "here "e learn from one another ! "ant to move a"ay from the notion that the teacher stands in front of the class and hands out #no"ledge, to a more colla%orative learning "here "e are all sharing our ideas 'aving the opportunity to %ecome a teacher comes "ith great responsi%ility (ne reason ! decided to %ecome a teacher "as to have an impact on our "orld)s youth ! "ant to encourage my students to *uestion the "orld around them and not $ust ta#e things at face value (ne reason ! decided to %ecome an English teacher is %ecause there is so much fle&i%ility and opportunity to teach "ithin the classroom Through literature and discussion "ith one another, students "ill learn much more than they may even reali+e at the time ,iterature, poems, movies, etc can ta#e people a"ay to a "orld filled "ith possi%ilities !t may teach people a%out fantasy, history, or current events that our students "ould have never understood %efore ! also plan on getting my students moving and participating in our classroom ! "ould hate to see children falling asleep or spending every class daydreaming ! "ant to find ne" activities and lessons to teach the students everyday -s a teacher, ! am a pu%lic servant, here to serve my students and their families ! "ant to ma#e my classroom an en$oya%le place to go "here each child feels recogni+ed and understood The #ey to a successful classroom is the right management style Typically, management is

loo#ed at as one person having control over the others ! "ant to redefine management and loo# at it "ith a ne" perspective ! "ant to teach my students autonomy and responsi%ility ! %elieve giving the students the opportunity to have a say in ho" the class is run is very %eneficial ! "ant to develop strong relationships "ith my students %ased on a mutual trust and respect ! %elieve if ! give my students the respect they desire, they "ill "ant to give me the same !f a classroom is managed correctly, components li#e participation, home"or#, and attendance "ill fall into place !n my opinion, teaching is a profession that you cannot al"ays go into "ith too many e&pectations !t is an e&citing roller.coaster ride that no one #no"s *uite "here it "ill lead ! have hopes and plans, %ut ultimately ! #no" that many of my strategies "ill vary from class to class ! thin# this is one of the most e&citing things a%out %eing a teacher ! %elieve a classroom "or#s %est "hen the teacher genuinely cares a%out the students, is a prominent part of the school)s community, and creates an outlet for the students to feel useful and understood /reating a safe classroom environment is the foundation for carrying out the rest of a teacher)s responsi%ilities
