WHY:

 The
 Early
 Learning
 Coalition
 of
 Miami‐Dade/Monroe,
 a
 non‐profit
 organization
 dedicated
 to

ensuring
 children
 in
 Miami‐Dade
 and
 Monroe
 counties
 receive
 high‐quality
 early
 care
 and

education,
 has
 been
 awarded
 a
 $125,000
 grant
 from
 Reading
 Is
 Fundamental,
 Inc.
 (RIF),
 the

nation’s
largest
literacy
organization.
385
early
care
and
education
centers
were
selected
by
ELC

to
participate
in
distributing
a
total
of
28,000
books
to
the
children
of
our
community
so
they
can

build
their
own
personal
libraries.

Celeste
Arrarás,
an
Emmy
award‐winning
journalist,
host
and
managing
editor
of
the
show

"Al
 Rojo
 Vivo”
 produced
 by
 Telemundo/NBC,
 is
 also
 a
 guest
 host
 for
 NBC’s
 Today
 Show
 and

collaborator
of
Dateline
and
NBC
Nightly
News
with
Brian
Williams
as
well
as
the
author
of
The

Magic
Cane.
Maria
Celeste
will
be
sharing
and
reading
her
children’s
book
The
Magic
Cane
and

will
be
available
for
interviews
after
the
reading.





A

of
well
known
readers
that
will
also
be
presenting
at
later
dates
include
Ron
Magill
from
the

Miami
Metrozoo
and
firefighters
in
Miami‐Dade
