Abstract Domestic violence has been dramatically increasing throughout the years. Some people are not aware of the large number of people who are being affected by this issue. This book is talking about the unfortunate situations of domestic violence and its negative outcome. It explains how we should increase our concern and our attention to this area. Also to realize that violence is not the only matter to be worried about, but the consequences the people involved have to face. It is an up-to-date book and easily comprehended. You can truly understand the reality of domestic violence.

Domestic violence at the margins analyses the patterns in behavior in relationships that try to gain or maintain control. This is happening within homes with couples who are married, living together or just dating; which means it is likely to happen to anyone. In some of the cases, one of the two people already has a history of this reputation toward their partners. The reason why this is, is do to the person already having set that mentality for themselves, or also it might go way back to poor parenting. Natalie J. This book also represents some history of domestic violence and the institutions that have been made from the past. Many call for the involvement of other institutions and influential community members including institutions for economic development, religious institutions, community leaders, school, and community-based organizations to respond to domestic violence. All of these are sources one can turn to for information on domestic violence. There is not really an emotional connection or appeal with on this book because it mainly focuses on detailed facts. The purpose of this chapter is not to catch our attention emotionally but to inform us about domestic violence. This chapter provides us with real experiences and information. It has a good organization which makes it easier to understand and to relate to. The chapter includes some citations and good evidence.
