Connections to other classes As most of my other classes had little to no interaction with other classmates, I see very little connection to my paper on the ENDA and other classes. I do feel that most of my classmates would be surprised by the findings, such as it is currently legal to fire somebody for their sexual orientation or gender identity. I never would have thought that would be possible in today's society. Connection to the rest of the world I have many gay, and lesbian friends, and have nown some transgender individuals. Even before meeting them I have been a proponent for e!ual rights and the idea that they could be fired for being who they are truly appalls me. "hey are all extremely talented people who #ust want to be #udged and treated li e anybody else, by their actions and who they are, not because of who they want to be with. As a current e$ay employee I was very excited to find that e$ay had a %&&' compliance rating on the (orporate E!uality Index, toping the list for the )th year in a row. It ma es me feel a great deal of pride for the business I wor for. Connection to what I have learned It seems to me, that when people start believing they are above others it leads to trouble, whether it be in business or society in general. *e often hear of businessmen who thought they were above the law, and it came bac to punish them. +ust loo at the Enron Executives. "hat ind of mind set is bad for business. ,ost -ortune .&& companies have reali/ed that discrimination is bad for business as well. I hope more organi/ations come to reali/e this fact as well. Nobody should be #udged by what they are, but by who they are. I expect people to #udge me by my accomplishments, and what I have contributed to the world, not by who I share my bed with.
