Part 1: Rhetorical Precise SENTENCE ONE In their textbook, Reading Rhetorically, authors John C Bean, Virginia A Chappell, and Alice M Gillam show that reading a book is not the only thing that matters, one must be able to understand the authors reasons for writing the book. SENTENCE TWO John C Bean, Virginia A Chappell, and Alice M Gillam develop/support this idea by giving examples of times when analyzing and having a deeper understanding of a reading will be needed. SENTENCE THREE Their purpose is to teach new college students struggling with their writing skills how to read a book critically and how to use outside sources to write a well written essay in order to show college students that most people are not expert writers from the start but that with practice they could become good writers. SENTENCE FOUR They use a serious yet understanding tone with their young audience who is still trying to improve their writing skills in order to show the reader that they understand what they are going through and to show the readers that they are not alone. READING RESPONSE

Part 2: Reaction to/Opinion of Content Reading Rhetorically effectively gives the reader ways in which to improve their writing skills. I agree with the way in which the authors explain and simplify writing for those students are struggling with it. After reading just the first chapter of this book I feel much more comfortable that u will be able to improve my writing skills. Writing has always been a struggle for me and after reading this book I feel much more relief that I will be able to succeed in this class and other class that has writing.
