they created the Mayflower the way they did.

ANTICIPATORY SET:
I will use the projector or smartbaord to project the word Mayflower on the board.
I will then ask students what they know about this word and how it relates to Thanksgiving.

PROCEDURES:
After discussing what they already know about the mayflower we will then read a story about the Mayflower.
I will then have students visit The First Thanksgiving website and allow them to take a virtual tour of the
Mayflower.
After spending time looking at the Mayflower I will provide students with construction paper and have them make
a picture of the Mayflower based off of what they saw on the computer and heard from the book that we read
together.
Add additional pages as needed.

CLOSURE:
Student will describe to me why they made the Mayflower the way they did when showing me their picture.
