The objectives of this 2nd grade science unit were to identify the properties and characteristics of magnets through

hands on learning activities and varied instruction. I designed the unit to include both independent, paired, and whole group activities. Students were taught through direct instruction as well as using visual and kinesthetic learning styles. One of my goals of this unit was to allow for differentiated instruction for the diverse learning levels in the classroom. aired groups were selected based on students pretest information showing their various levels.
