El Da del Idioma

El Da del Idioma Espaol es una conmemoracin organizada por el Instituto Cervantes para celebrar la importancia del espaol como lengua internacional, que ya cuenta con ms de 450 millones de hispanohablantes en el mundo.El Da del Idioma Espaol es una conmemoracin que se inici en Espaa en 1923 por una propuesta del escritor Vicente Clavel Andrs. A partir de 1964 la festividad fue adoptada por todos los pases de habla hispana.

El objetivo es celebrar la importancia del espaol como vnculo idiomtico de casi 500 millones de personas en el mundo actual. La fecha 23 de abril fue elegida como un homenaje a don Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, el autor de El Ingenioso Hidalgo don Quijote de la Mancha y mxima figura de la literatura espaola. Cervantes falleci el 23 de abril de 1616 despus de haber contribuido con sus obras al engrandecimiento de la lengua castellana, hoy llamada espaola.

Hoy, la lengua espaola es el principal vehculo de comunicacin en Hispanoamrica. En su formacin han contribuido grandes lenguas como el latn, el godo y el rabe. Su desarrollo se ha enriquecido con aportes de las lenguas indgenas americanas desde el siglo XVI.

Al ser nuestra lengua materna es necesario valorar la importancia del espaol como el principal medio para aprender y compartir nuestros conocimientos. Estudiarlo y utilizarlo correctamente contribuye al desarrollo de la sociedad y al fortalecimiento de la autoestima.
