James Celestino Signature Assignment-English 1010 Signature Assignment-English 1010 Human Trafficking logos during the years have not been a new phenomenon for the adult population around the world, specifically focusing on parents adding college students. This issue has been exposed to the adult society, in order gain awareness on how the human pathos is being violated by the traffickers. Still in America, Asia, Africa and other continents are underneath letting human trafficking to be there, because the ethos have been continually paid by some of the male population. The victims which are the most affected population are children; a way they traffickers used to gain profit is from sexual abused which benefits prostitution and its growth, as a consequence of mistreatment the victims end up having serious mental disorders. Some ethical organizations had been created to help victims of human trafficking; however not yet these organizations are not enough to prevent the violation of the rights in minorities, such as women and children. Sexually assaulted victims often suffer from depression after they have been exposed to any kind of mistreatment. For many decades, human trafficking is still active in the business market, it is not an easy subject to be solved, but ask yourselves what you can do to make a difference.

Human trafficking logos in any case refer to the exploitation of a human being, in which the victims are brought by force to another country. The action of taking these people away from their homeland is also known as the new way of a modern slavery and violation of human rights. Most of these victims are brought to USA to work in hotels, restaurants and some of your households, getting the minimum wage a payment. Sex trafficking is a $32 billion dollar a year business, or 87 million dollars a day. This figure come from a 2005 estimate by the International Labor Organization (ILO) regarding the possible total market value for human trafficking( www.aasect.org | March 2013 Vol. 47, No. 2). As you can notice this is a business growing which will last for quite a long time? Many people are benefited with the increase in their incomes, and this is one of the reasons why human trafficking is still in the market. The recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benets to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation (Roy Huijsmans and Simon Baker pg.4). If a child lives under poverty, it is most common sense to be an easy target for the predators of human trafficking to come and grab them along with lies. What this means is the kids are easy to manipulate, if the person trying to persuade them, gives them any kind of gift and the kids are suffering from the specific thing they got, the children would be grateful and easily brought to improve their lives by the trafficking industry. Other reason infants are in the industry, it might be the result of the parents not being able to keep them in their households, in various cases minors are sold to the trader, because the family is needed. As it is mentioned before, this minority group is vulnerable to be sexually abused and exploited, which emerges omnivorous sex trade trends. In fact heterosexual

prostitution is a big business in gaining extensive income; underage females are also involved in this industry, as the result of males requesting underage company. A few ways children and women suffer is by being involved in: sexual tourism, child pornography, including prostitution and certainly to comfort the desires of a pedophile. The protection of children from sexual exploitation has long been an area of grave concern for the international community (Koninklijke Brill NV, Leiden, 2010). The emergence of human trafficking in the recent decades is cutting across the issue of prostitution (Published online: 19 June 2007, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC 2007). What does prostitution mean? Prostitution is having a sexual intercourse with a person which is selling their body to gain a monetary profit. This sexual act frequently follows the rules of the customer who is buying the sexual affair; some of the times prostitutes get raped and even more sexual assaults. Prostitution has not yet been able, to perceived as a normal behavior for the society creating some pathos for most of the population. For a long time the sex industry has been serving the desires of heterosexuals and pedophiles, but sadly this industry as mentioned before is the most violent in treating its employees with dignity. As we know the sex industry will last until our male population learns how to be abstinent, lets be honest this would not happen, because parents are too afraid to talk to their child about their sexuality. If enabling prostitution to be legal, would decrease sexual assaults, and other violent mistreatments, will you be agree? Trafficking individuals with the objective to obtain capital is an illicit movement internationally and it is a law; but no one care or pays attention to this law, unless your kid has been taken away from your household, and you want to find her/him. Some countries do not agree with this law, such a country that lets prostitution to be legal is Netherlands. Prostitution establishments are reported to do little to protect their workers. In the Netherlands, where

prostitution is legalized, 60% of prostitutes suffer physical assault, 70% experience verbal threats, and 40% experience sexual violence, (Gend. Issues (2007) 24:4650). Assuming this country let prostitution to be legal; the prostitutes currently have to do checkups in order to continue with their work. Supposing some of the prostitution establishments do not follow the rule, prostitution would be in the same page as it has been for many decades. After being trafficked, the victims suffer from several depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress disorders. Most trafficking-related health studies have focused on sexually transmitted infections among women trafficked for sexual exploitation, particularly HIV in Asia (American Journal of Public Health | December 2010, Vol 100, No. 12). With and without condoms this minorities get infected, it is sad not only they were taken away from home, but they also have to deal with a disease for the rest of their lives. During the trafficking period, more than 80% of victims had been subjected to sexual violence, threats of harm to themselves, and persistently restricted freedom( December 2010, Vol 100, No. 12 | American Journal of Public Health). Juts realize how much this people go through, before making an assumption, stop and rationalize how the person might be behaving. What will you do if instead of been having the life you have now, whether you have a good or bad economy, you had to face all this challenges? Human traffickers beat, rape, stop providing food or water, torture, and drug the victims, obtaining a result of complete obedience. These techniques make the traffickers powerful in order to show who the boss is. It might have been mention a lot of times, but how we make an action to stop making humans suffer one another?

In conclusion human trafficking will never stop, because we have not taught our populations, how to be abstinent. There will be exploitation as long as each one of us, keep paying the industry of sexual or labor abuse. Prostitution will last until we teach our male population to be respectful of other human beings, including teaching them about their sexuality. As a society not yet, we do not care on how many children disappear from their homelands, and why did they disappear. Just because a person does something, that does not mean they did it because they want it too. Before walking through State Street, reflect on how the women selling their body do not make them the worst person in this world. Remember there is a person behind, which are more powerful and make this woman do it. When you go shopping, you also should stop and wonder for a bit, how much the person who made this got paid, how they were treated, why is it so cheap to import and sale it too expensive.
