Hymns Key words: Israel, rejoice, light, Noah, Son of Man, come
City of God 1. Awake from your slumber! Arise from your sleep! A new day is dawning for all those who weep. The people in darkness have seen a great light. The Lord of our longing has conquered the night. Refrain Let us build the city of God. May our tears be turned into dancing! For the Lord, our light and our love, has turned the night into day! 2. We are sons of the morning; we are daughters of day. The One who has loved us has brightened our way. The Lord of all kindness has called us to be a light for his people to set their hearts free.
Music and Text: Dan Schutte (b 1947)

Receive, O Father, God of Might 1. Receive, O Father, God of might, This host unblemished in your sight. Unworthy servants though we be, We come before You, trustingly. 2. This saving chalice too, we bring. Receive it graciously O king.

Sweet Sacrament Divine 1. Sweet Sacrament divine, hid in thine earthly home; lo! round thy lowly shrine, with suppliant hearts we come; Jesus, to thee our voice we raise In songs of love and heartfelt praise sweet Sacrament divine. 2. Sweet Sacrament of peace, dear home of every heart, where restless yearnings cease, and sorrows all depart. There in thine ear, all trustfully, we tell our tale of misery, sweet Sacrament of peace. 3. Sweet Sacrament of rest, ark from the ocean's roar, within thy shelter blest soon may we reach the shore; save us, for still the tempest raves, save, lest we sink beneath the waves: sweet Sacrament of rest. 4. Sweet Sacrament divine, earth's light and jubilee, in thy far depths doth shine the Godhead's majesty; sweet light, so shine on us, we pray that earthly joys may fade away: sweet Sacrament divine.

Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus 1. Come, thou long expected Jesus, born to set thy people free; from our fears and sins release us, let us find our rest in thee. 2. Israel's strength and consolation, hope of all the earth thou art; dear desire of every nation, joy of every longing heart. 3. Born thy people to deliver, born a child and yet a King, born to reign in us forever, now thy gracious kingdom bring.
Tune: STUTTGART (8 7 8 7), William Henry Havergal (17931870) Text: Charles Wesley (1707-1788)
