Life is just a scrapbook

I originally wanted to create a scrapbook that would turn on a swivel, but I couldnt find the appropriate materials to be able to build such a thing. I had to rethink my product for the art gallery and I came up with creating a large scrapbook since the amount of pictures would show how much the topic has affected my literacy. The size of the piece to me represents how much these memories mean to me. It has three topics; Family/friends, soccer, and other. The other topic is memories that are little narratives in a sense. The other two topics are more like big narratives that have had more effects on my life and more importantly my literacies. My scrapbook consist of mostly pictures that either my mother or myself have taken, but some I needed from the internet because of the meaning they have towards my literacies. I want the pictures to speak for themselves, their detail, and straight forward meaning they carry within them. It is not hard to follow the pictures because like myself, I am a simple, and straight forward individual which is reflected by each picture in my scrapbook. When you make the usual scrapbook there is not a lot or any writing other than a title or topic, mine is no different. I didnt like the way it looked with what I would call subtitles or little words all over the board along with the pictures. I wanted the pictures to tell the story within them and the reader to think and feel it not just glance over it. Most of my pictures are of family and soccer because those two topics have shaped me the most and how I act on a daily base. I dont really have a target audience for this piece. Its meant to be wide spread and easy to understand and to also relate too. I wanted for anyone to be able to look at the scrapbook and understand how much these memories mean to me and how they have shaped me into the young man I am today. Soccer and my friends/family have had the most influence on my literacy. Not only on how I learned to read and write but also what I read and write about. Every day I normally read soccer articles, maybe even leave comments on videos or tweets. My family mostly my mother and grandmother who are/where teachers taught me to read and write before I went to pre-school knowing how important being able to read and write are in life. Many memories I have about reading come from my favorite books over the years such as Stowaway and The Swiss family Robinson.
