Stage I
1) Specific purpose: To inform my audience about the process of making salsa cruda.
2) Central idea: Making salsa cruda involves three different steps, ingredients, preparation, and serving.
3) Main Points:
1) To make salsa cruda you need to know the ingredients.
2) Making salsa cruda involves knowing how to prepare those ingredients.
3) Serving the salsa cruda is the final step in the process.
Stage II
I. Introduction
Capture the Audience’s Attention:
Did you know that salsa is a Spanish, Arabic and Italian word for any kind of sauce.
Introduce the Topic:
In American English it refers to the spicy hot sauces used as dips typical of Mexican cusine. But in 
British English the word refers to the raw chopped version called salsa cruda, which is popular in 
Mexican, Spanish and Italian cusine.(wikipedia)
Establish Importance/Preview the message:
Today we will discuss what ingredients you need to make salsa cruda and how to prepare and serve 
those ingredients.
Transitional Sentence:
To begin making salsa cruda we must first gather our ingredients.
II. Body
A.) Statement of Key Idea:
These are the different food items you will need to make the perfect salsa cruda

• 1­1/2 pounds firm, ripe tomatoes, diced 
• 1 large jalapeno chile, seeded, minced 
• 1/2 cup red onion, diced 
• 3 garlic cloves, minced 
• 1/4 cup cilantro leaves, chopped 
• 1 teaspoon salt 
• Pinch of ground pepper 
• 2 tablespoons lime juice
You will also need some tools at this point as well.
    A cutting board
    A pairing knife
    A Chiefs knife
    A Teaspoon
    And the appropriate bowls for your ingredients.

Transitional Sentence:
After we have gathered all of the ingredients then we must start the preparation
B.) Statement of Key Idea:
Preparation of salsa cruda is a very fun and easy process.
1.) First you dice the tomatoes.
2.) Next you dice your onions.
3.) Then you mince your garlic, this is like dicing only a bit smaller pieces.
4.) After this you cut your chile in half lengthwise, use the teaspoon to scrap the seeds and save them 
for later and mince the remaining chile.
5.) Chop your cilantro.
6.)Drain the tomatoes for 30 mins.
7.) Put everything in a bowl adding a 1/2 teaspoon of salt, some pepper, and 2 tablespoons of lime juice.
8.)Mix it all together and now it is ready to serve.

Transitional Sentence:
After all of your hard work you are ready to serve.
C.) Statement of Key Idea:
Serving this snack is even easier than the preparation
1.)Get any type of corn chip and serve the salsa cruda straight from the bowl.
2.) This makes a great snack in between meals or it is also commonly served before any Mexican feast.

III.Conclusion
Provide Closure/Reference Main Point:
Hopefully through my demonstration I have provided a fun and interesting experience for you. I also 
hope that watching me do this you can to show the diversity of Mexican culture through this simple to 
make yet tasty snack. Thank you.

For my speech, I plan on using a written speech. I will demonstrate this by making salsa cruda in the 
class.
