My dear John.

It pleases me to inform you that I have landed the job in Boston. I will commence my duties as secretary to the Minister of Public Relations on the first of this upcoming January. Naturally, I am inclined to believe that my being placed at a post far inferior and rather, pardon my frankness, undermining of my capabilities. No need to fret, darling, for I am sure to work my way up the corporate ladder soon enough.

I remain in contact with my dear friend William, cousin of the Kinsey clan. He visited us just this summer. Do you remember meeting him? I do believe that was when we were first getting acquainted. He hopes to see us soon. I certainly hope there will be an us by the time Fall rolls around.

On that note, I will take the brazen first step of approaching the subject of our relationship. I am no traditional lady, content to wait perched behind my desk while the man of my dreams idly ponders our future. If you wish to spend the rest of your life with me, you must decide now. I am a catch, by all conventional definitions of the word. I consider you an equal, a man worthy of my love and time. And I do love you, my darling. I would like to know that you do too. Do write soonperhaps we can go for a picnic in the park next weekend.

Fondly Yours,

Eileen
