Little Mix , formerly known as Rhythmix, came to fame in 2011 as the X Factor winners. Little Mix is a group made up of 4 British girls. The band members include (according to the picture to the left) Jade Thirlwall, 20, Perrie Edwards, 20, LeighAnne Pinnock, 22, and Jesy Nelson, 22. To start, Perrie

Edwards, blonde on the left, got into singing because her parents are singers and performers. Jesy Nelson began singing at 15 and even though she started late, she still auditioned. Leigh-Anne Pinnock sang at every talent show at her school and was inspired by her older sisters, both amazing performers. Now, Jade Thirlwall had previously auditioned for two previous series but that didnt stop her from auditioning a 3rd time and this definitely proves the saying: 3rd times a charm! Originally, these four girls first auditioned on The X Factor UK show as solo artists. However, they were denied as solo acts and then put together at the bootcamp stages as a girl group by Tulisa Contonstavlos, a judge on the show. On October 26, 20011, Rhythmix announced that they would change their name due to pressure from a childrens music charity of the same name, after the program tried to

trademark Rhythmix in Europe. They announced that they would now be known as Little Mix on October 28, 2011. After their victory, they signed with Simon Cowells record label Syco records and later signed in the United States with Columbia Records. Little Mix has been branded the next Spice Girls as well as the UKs next biggest girl group capable of international success. After winning, they released their winning single, a cover of Damien Rices Cannonball. Later, they released their debut album DNA on November 19, 2012. As of June 2013, the band has sold over 2 million records worldwide. The group performed the single Wings for the first time at the T4 on the Beach concert on July 1, 2012. The single debuted at #1. On August 31, 2012, the groups autobiography title Reaady to Fly, was released. On February 3, 2013, they released Change Your Life as the third single from their debut album, which charted at number 12 on the UK Singles Chart. On March 4, 2013, it was announced that How Ya Doin? would be released as the fourth single from their album. The group has stated hat their second album will have more R&B sound. Jesy Nelson, a bandmember, added:I personally want to pu a lot more dancey stuff in there. As in, on of the songs that comes on in a club that makes you want to dance. Not that David Guetta sound, but more R&B a bit like Eve and Gwen Stefanis Let Me Blow Ya Mind. Now, for more recent news, Little Mix premiered their single on September 23, 2013, Move. Move will be the lead single from Little Mixs upcoming second studio album. Their next album, Salute, will be released on November 11, 2013, in the UK and February 2014, in the US.

Also, in September Little Mix announced their own makeup line with Collection. Perrie Edwards shared, We are so so excited to unveil our new range to all you makeup lovers out there. As you know we all love dressing up and

experimenting with different looks, so creating our own makeup was a dream come true. We designed the collection ourselves and weve all chosen products that reflect our personalities. Personally, I love Little Mix and they are my favorite Girl Group. Their music is inspiring but still have a great tune, rhythm, and sound! Little Mix is slowly but surely rising to fame.
