Propaganda Poster Assignment

Part of the job of any Social Studies student is to evaluate primary sources. In class we have learned about the different types of propaganda and have also used our knowledge to interpret WWI propaganda posters. Your task is to now apply the knowledge and create an original propaganda poster. Directions: Using your creative skills, knowledge of a subject, and understanding of propaganda, design a poster that is convincing and effective. Must be an original creation (not a copy of an example we have seen) Must contain facts about the subject Must use at least three (or more) propaganda techniques that we discussed: Demonization, Emotional Appeal, Name Calling, Patriotic Appeal, Half Truths and Lies, Evocative Visual Symbols, or Caricature and Humor On the back of your poster, include the following: Name What is the objective of your poster? What propaganda techniques did you use? Please describe how the techniques are used in your poster. Who is your audience? How does is this piece of propaganda designed to appeal to this audience?
