My Symbol Project

Symbol: (noun) Something used for or regarded as representing something else; a material object representing something, often something immaterial; emblem, token, or sign.

Directions: Throughout our lives, we experience a variety of different types of symbols that can reflect a multitude of different things. An American flag may represent freedom to some, or a car may represent freedom to others. It is all about perception and how you perceive things. Explain what symbolizes you as a person. This symbol can be a number of different things. It can be an actual, physical object or even an idea or belief. Develop a visual representation of this object to present to the class. This can be anything from a hand drawn picture, to a collage, or even a diorama of the symbol. I will warn you, printing a picture off the internet will not be allowed. This is a creative project and stealing a picture off the internet is not creative. Once you are finished, prepare a short one to two paragraph explanation of the symbol and why it reflects you as a person. Be creative with your symbol and have fun with your work.
