I specifically want to look at the innovative programs and teaching strategies a t this (BA & MA) higher

education level. Although I am teaching secondary school, I would like to look i nto the pedagogy beyond this level to filter down to schools and bridge the gap between the two. I guess this goes hand-in-hand with my interest in collaborative design and its implementation into education p rograms. Seeing this in action at such a reputable design school will be extremely valuable and no doubt ignite some creative spark. If you have any other suggestions of place I could visit during my week in Copen hagen, please feel free to make some suggestions. I will update you if anything in my travel plans changes. Our school give BA and MA type degre e programs in Design, and we are not so well connected with high school teaching In any case you are welcome here, but a 1-day visit may be enough for you to get a sense of what we are doing All the best Thomas ................................................................................ ....... Fra: Patrick Langer <PLanger@burgmann.act.edu.au> Dato: mandag den 3. juni 2013 04.09 Til: Thomas Binder <tbi@kadk.dk> Emne: potential visit Thomas, I am the Head of Art and Design at a secondary school in Canberra, Australia. I have received funding to write a brief internal paper on design pedagogy, in particular, collaborative de sign. After investigating several design schools, I am extremely intrigued in the research project you run , Co-design. I wanted to ask about a potential visit your Design School and research cluster for a couple of days in late September, 2013. The visit would involve observing the program and possibly havi ng some professional conversations with yourself and other staff. I am very interested in innovative design education and feel your programs have a lot to offer design education at a secondary levels. Look forward to hearing from you.
