An Airbag is a very important feature of a car. It saves people life in many accidents. An airbag is a thin nylon fabric, which is found in the steering wheel or dashboard it is made up of three important parts, which are known as the bag, sensor and the inflation system. When there is a collision the sensor gives a signal to the bag when there is a cautious signal telling that there is a crash. Then there is a thin nylon fabric which is found in the steering wheel or dash board that quickly inflates by an amount of a chemical which is known as Soduim azide (NAN3) and potassium nitrate (KNO3). Sodium azide produces approximately 67 liters of Nitrogen gas, which is enough to make the airbag to inflate. These chemicals have a very quick reaction in producing a large pulse of hot nitrogen gas, which will lead the gas into inflating the bag, and when the bag is being inflated it burst out from the steering wheel/ dashboard, the bag also expands as it is inflating. According to newtons third law when a force acts on an object there is equal force acting in the opposite direction action and reaction are equal and opposite . When the sensor in front collides on to something they will send a signal, the signal then explodes an amount of fuel mixture in the engine compound. The heat of the starting to burn engine compound then decomposes the sodium azide so finally the sodium azide produces the nitrogen gas to inflate the airbag .The airbag can inflate in less than 10 seconds. Event though airbag is known as one car feature that saves people life there is both pros and cons of them. The advantage of the airbag is that it the air bag protects the passenger from the forces which leads the passage to have a head crash. It protects passenger from chest injury. The airbag is very active when a crash occurs and fully be inflated in 30 milliseconds. Airbag are also very risky, the disadvantages of them are all most as many as the advantage. The speed of the airbag when it is inflated can cause burning. The chemicals that are form to become gas in the air bag can cause people to get asthma attack. Injuries such as eye damage, hearing damage, nose injury, arm injury and head injury are at very high risk when the speed of the airbag is being inflated too fast. The causes of these injuries are because of the sodium azide that is being produced to inflate the airbag is too strong, Sodium is a very active metal that have very quick reaction to water which are very harmful to humans eye, nose, ear and mouth. Burning can also be causes because when the sensor sends the signal there is an amount of fuel mixture in the engine compound that is being burned, this causes the burning to happen. Passenger such as infant and children can get a very serious injury when they are being seated in the wrong position. The airbag can causes injury if passengers are being seated improperly such as too close to the airbag.

In the factor of politics, a lot of countries laws are not very useful, these situation can be found in undeveloped countries. The government should strike this law because according to many researches by wearing seatbelts it helps to reduce the amount of airbag injuries. Many airbag injuries happen because when people are improperly seated and when they are too near to the airbag the airbag does not have enough space to inflate. The seat belts also help the passenger to seated 10 to 12 inches away from airbag this way it reduces the amount of airbag injuries. Children and infant shouldnt be seated in front as well. If the law of having seat belts properly fasten and passengers properly seat the percent of people surviving will increase. According to a research in order to reduce the amount of airbag injury we first should have our seat belt fasten, the seat belts helps to give the right position for passengers to be seated the airbag will inflate in the proper way. (Cars direct) scientist have found that ten years ago 100 children die because seated wrong position and no seatbelt (cars direct) By having the law of seat belts and following them this way the it makes the amount of people surviving of seat belts increases. In another factor of economic, countries should invest more on cars that have airbags everywhere, especially for undeveloped countries. Countries should invest more on airbags because according to insurance Institute for Highway safety cars with airbag in collision reduce by 37 percent in 2006 (Cars direct) and the percentage of people dying are reducing. This shows that airbags are useful and lesser airbag injuries will occur when we follow the laws and rules of traffic and so countries should invest more on airbags. Economically airbag are expensive and some people would not even bother to buy any airbag their cars and we should show awareness to them that airbag is expensive, Economically, airbag company should lower the price for people who cant afford to get airbags for their car and they need to have one because it is expansive. In conclusion airbag is a car feature that helps to safe passengers life a lot but at the same time the percentage of risk is also very high. There are many different advantages and disadvantage of safety and injuries as mention above. But as shown many passengers have survive with the help of airbag and if they have followed the rule of seat belt less injury problem will occur.
