Kait Sanfords Assessment Taxonomy Table

Module Goal: Students will understand and reflect on how the Bill of Rights and the creation of the three branches of government helped shape our Constitution and our nation. Bloom categories/Revised Taxonomy Knowledge /Remembering (recall, list, define, identify, collect, label) Learning objective verbs After studying articles and information given by the instructor, students will identify and list each of the amendments in the Bill of Rights with 100% accuracy on a teacher provided Google Form. After researching the jobs of each of the three branches of government and creating a mnemonic device, students will describe and summarize the duties and requirements for each of the three branches on the course discussion board with 100% accuracy. Given a job or duty of one branch of government, students will illustrate the checks and balances process to show how each branch of government is in charge of checking up on the others with successful completion of a concept map using Popplet. After completing the necessary learning activities for the module, students will reflect on their learning using Blogger to discuss insights and important takeaways from the module with at least one connection to their real life or current events. Activity Students will identify each of the 10 Amendments in an online assessment provided by the instructor using Google Forms

Comprehension/ Understanding (summarize, describe interpret, predict, discuss)

Students will describe each of the 10 amendments in the Bill of Rights in their own words and provide a special trick or mnemonic to help them remember the amendment to help them prepare for their Bill of Rights assessment.

Application/Applying (apply, demonstrate, illustrate, classify, experiment, discover)

Students will create a concept map to illustrate the checks and balance process a visual of how each branch and check each other.

Analysis/Analyzing (analyze, classify, connect, explain, infer)

Evaluation/Evaluating (assess, recommend, convince, compare, conclude, summarize)

Students will connect the knowledge of the Bill of Rights and three branches of government to their real lives by researching current news articles and posting it in his/her class portfolio/blog. Students will reflect on the topics discussed in the Constitution module in his/her course portfolio/blog

Synthesis/Creating (combine, integrate, plan, create, design, formulate)

After researching the jobs of each of the three branches of government and creating a mnemonic device, students will list and summarize the duties and requirements for each of the three branches on the course discussion board with 100% accuracy.

Students will create a mnemonic device that will help him/her understand and remember the 10 amendments in the Bill of Rights.
