    The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has completed restoration of all 230-kV, 138-kV, and 69-kV transmission and sub-transmission lines and substations in Visayas that were affected by an earthquake. Normal operation of the power grid was restored after the Catigbian-Carmen 69-kV transmission line was repaired. NGCP is prepared to conduct similar rapid restoration activities in the future to ensure reliable power transmission and has taken steps to minimize impacts from future disasters.

    NGCP completes restoration of transmission lines in Visayas As of 6:14PM yesterday, 16 October 2013, all 230-kV, 138-kV, and 69-kV transmission and sub-transmission lines and substations of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) in Visayas have been operating under normal conditions. All restoration works in areas affected by the earthquake have been completed. Normalization of the system came after the restoration of the Catigbian-Carmen 69-kV line at 6:14PM yesterday. NGCP assures the public that it is ready to conduct similar expedited restoration activities to ensure reliable power transmission services. The corporation is also continuously taking necessary preparations and precautions to minimize the impact of succeeding disasters on NGCP operations and facilities. ###
