VIRTUALIZATION ENVIRONMENT STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED FOR VIRTUALIZATION: 1. Download the fdbasecd.iso from www.freedos.org to Downloads. 2. Open the terminal. 3. Go to Downloads directory by using cd Downloads command. 4. Type pwd command to verify the path. 5. To allocate 100mb for new virtual OS use qemu -img create virtualdisk.img 100M command. 6. To boot from the external disk use qemu -hda virtualdisk.img -cdrom fdbasecd.iso -boot d command.

7.After booting through QEMU, select 1 to boot from CDROM and press enter.

8. Press Enter. Now select Install to harddisk using FreeDOS SETUP(default).

9. Select Language English US

10. Select option Run FreeDOS from CD-ROM.

11. X:>fdisk. Press Enter.

12. It will ask for disk space. Give Y and press Enter.

13. Now enter choice as 1.

14. Again enter choice as 1 for creating primary DOS Partition.

15. After that press ESC to exit fdisk.

16. Primary DOS Partition is created. Press ESC to continue.

17. Again press ESC.

18. Now exited from fdisk.

19. Again enter the command qemu -hda virtualdisk.img -cdrom fdbasecd.iso -boot d and the installation wizard appears.

20. Now choose h to boot from first harddisk in that wizard.

21. Installation proceeds.

22. Select Start installation of freeDOS 1.0 Final.

23. Enter YES.

24. Enter YES.

25. Now FreeDOS is successfully Installed.
