    NETWORK INTERFACE USING IFCONFIG 1. 2. 3. 4. Open the terminal. Login as superuser using su command with password admin123 To check the satus of the network, use service NetworkManager status command. If the service is stopped start the service using the command service NetworkManager start.

    5. To check the IP address of the system, use ipconfig.

    6. To change the IP address of the system, use ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.6 netmask 255.255.255.0. 7. Use the command ifconfig to see the changes made in the system.

    8. Use the command route -n to check the gateway address. 9. To add a gateway use route add default gw 192.168.0.5.
