Elements of the Skill Take a clear stand for a healthy choice. Explain why the stand taken is good for health. Use information to support the choice. Show awareness of the audience for the message. Be persuasive. Show conviction about the message.

The following analytic rubric can be used for assessing student ability to use the skill: Advocacy. The student has demonstrated the elements listed above through written assignment or digital assignments, presentations, or classroom activities. Exceeds Expectations 4 Meets Expectations 3 Progressing Toward Expectations 2 Take a stand for a healthy choice. Take a clear stand for a healthy choice. Does Not Meet Expectations 1 Take a stand, but it may be unclear or unhealthy.
