Lizett Zendejas Professor Fulton English 120 October 11, 2012 Essay 2 Outline Thesis: Robots will affect

different aspects of our lives, help humans perform rigorous tasks, and also become very helpful to society Robots place in society (bp #1) : The goal for robots of the future will be for them to assist human beings. (Asimo) They are built to perform dangerous tasks humans are incapable of doing. Robots do labor that is too intense for humans or the tasks humans do not want to do.

Topic sentence bp #1: Humans today have plans for building robots that will affect different aspects of our lives. How humans depend on robots (bp#2): We have robots in our own homes. (washing machines) Self- driving cars (Humans are building robots to drive our cars for us) There are robots today working in car factory assembly lines.

Topic sentence bp #2: Humans can benefit from simple everyday tasks a robot can perform for us.

Human interaction with robots (bp#3): Humanoid robots are easier for us to build a relationship/connection with. (Cognitive empathy) A robots behavior has a profound impact on our relationship with it.

Topic sentence bp#3: The relationship a human builds with a robot impacts how much we benefit from the robot. Positive or negative for humanity: Robots can be very useful for society in the future. Robots like Asimo, Msl (Rover on Mars) can be very helpful in care-taking and education. However, robots can perform tasks humans dont want to.
