Specific learner outcomes (SLOs): o 3.1.3 Examine the geographic characteristics that shape communities in other parts of the world by exploring and reflecting upon the following questions for inquiry o 3.1.4 Examine economic factors that shape communities in other parts of the world by exploring and reflecting upon the following questions for inquiry List of the most relevant ICT outcomes o C7 1.2 Summarize data by picking key words from gathered information and by using jottings, point form or retelling o P4 1.1 Integrate text and graphics to form a meaningful message o P6 1.1 Compose a message that can be sent through communication technology Rationale o The use of technology in the classroom is a great way for students to learn how to use it. Some students do not have access to technology at home. This puts them at a disadvantage in the work world after school, as technology is a major part of life now. By using technology in the classroom students know how to use it and it benefits them as technology is a great learning tool when used correctly.

First Clue You are going to visit Machu Picchu on your first leg of the race. Using Google maps find out which country Machu Picchu is in, take a screenshot (print screen or command + shift +3) and find flights to get there, include flight information to the nearest city to Machu Picchu. Third Clue You are now flying to India, whos known for exporting precise stones and pearls. In India they have a different way of getting around. Using Bing find the link on Discovery Atlas and search for India transportation, the video should be 2:07 minutes long. You must find out where this capital city is located and locate the Kiev Pechersk Lavra on Google earth and take a screen shot from street view. Using Yahoo find a picture, what they are and what they were used for. This is the last leg; the first team to win will receive a prize. Answer: The Ksar Ouled Soltanes are stacked grain holdings that hve survived the hot climate since the 15th century. They are abandoned now.
