Every ride is a new ride, building on new skills and leaving trying times behind.

Purpose of our Program

To use horses and equine-assisted ac1vi1es in order to achieve goals that enhance physical, emo1onal, social, communica1on, cogni1ve, behavioral and educa1onal skills for people who have disabili1es. We not only focus on the therapeu1c riding skills but also the development of a rela1onship between horse and rider using ground work. We use a team approach in order to provide treatment for the individual with the guidance of aspects of living. Par1cipants may include riders with cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disorders, post-trauma1c brain injury, au1sm, ADHD, cogni1ve disorders, along with other emo1onal and physical challenges.

Func1on of Program

Use horses as a modality to increase mo1va1on & success of the rider Develop a connec1on between horse and rider Use natural body movements to increase the therapeu1c success

What makes us stand out?

Riding along with working on the ground encourages the rider to make use of their en1re body to steer, to control and adjust to the horses movement and maintain balance. Tradi1onal therapeu1c techniques oJen reach a plateau where the pa1ent may lose mo1va1on. The pleasure and excitement of riding acts to encourage pa1ents to work through the pain and discomfort. We provide therapeu1c services in a non-tradi1onal seLng that is much more invi1ng to explore the internal conicts of ones soul or motoric connes of ones body and mind. Our sta and volunteers are under the direc1on of a Board Cer1ed Behavior Analyst licensed in the state of Arizona to prac1ce the behavior change procedures of Applied Behavioral Analysis.
