Itis wth considerable regret that inform you ofthe departure fom the City of Dallas of Assistant Cty
Manager Ramon F, Miguez effective ul 17, 2009, commend Mr. Mguez for his 20 years of service
tothe elizans of Dallas as an integra prof the City of Daas operatons.
‘The organization and the community have defintely benefited from Mr, Miguezs leadership sis and
vast experience, Over the past 20 years he has served as the director of Public Works and
Transportation, Sreet Services, Sanitation Service, Code Comptance and as interim director ofthe
Housing department. Ur. Miguez was appointed Assistant City Manager in Api 1995 and ducing this
time superised city cepartments, including Cultural Affairs, Environmental and Health Services,
Equipment and Buldirg Service, Housing, Library, Steet Services, Sanitation Services and Code
Compliance. He curently is responsible forthe operations of the Aviation, Communication and
Infeemation Services, Convention and Event Senices, Public Works and Transportation, Sanitation
Services, Steet Services and Dallas Water Utiites departments
Ramon Miguez has been instrumental the accomplishment of many City of Dallas projects. He has
been dedicated to ensuring that Dallas’ water needs wil be me nthe future through his work with the
development, adoption and implementation of the city’s long range waler supply strategies. In
addition, he oversaw the completion ofthe Morton H, Meyerson Symphony Center, home tothe Daas
Symphony Orchestra, In 1964 and 2002, under Mr. Miguez’s leadership the ‘Convention Center
Underwent major expansions and improvements were made to the Cotton Bol forthe 1994 Wedd
CCup. Mr. Miguez aso developed and implemented the Citys 1985, 1998 and 2006 bond programs,
which have been integral othe maintenance of our iy sinfastucure,
Aso notable was Mr. Mague2's unwavering leadership during the emergency esponse efforts folowing
the aftermath of Huricane Katrina, Mr Miguez coordinated an effort on behalf of the Ciy of Datas
and various agencies p provide assstance to more than 6,000 indiadualsafected by the hurncane
In addton, Mr. Miguezhas developed and successfuly implemented the Steets 2010 Program, which
sSgniicanty improved he overall conden of our streets inventory, meeting and exceeding goals,
onginaly set for the pogram. Mr. Niguez's accomplishments also mcude the implementaton of a
single stream recycing program, the formulation of the plan to implement the Love Field Modernization
Program andthe succestulimplementatin of the ciy's new bling ard collection system, Pay OneCviousi he City of Calas has been fortunate to have had 20 years of unparalled publ service
from Ramon Miguez, lease jon me in wishing hi wellin his future endeavors and in thanking im
for his longterm seiceto our City
