A condition in which the stomach is at an abnormally low position.
Differential diagnosis: Patients with liver qi stagnation may suffer from impetuosity, anger, distension and pain in bilateral flanks, mental depression, aggravation of symptoms after emotional disturbance, pale tongue with white or yellow and thin coating, and wiry pulse, And patients with deficiency of qi and blood may suffer from general fatigue and weakness, poor appetite, vomiting without vomitus, hiccup, pale tongue with white coating, and thready and weak pulse.
Treatment:
Foot massage: The massage is applied to stomach (15), kidney (22), duodenum (16), small intestine (25), ascending colon (28), transverse colon (29) and descending colon (30) reflecting areas (Fig. 48).
Foot acupuncture: 1) Meridianal acupoints: At Chongyang (ST 42), Shangqiu (SP 5), Neiting (ST 44), and Yinbai (SP 1) acupoints, a reinforcing technique is applied to patients with qi and blood deficiency, and Taichong (LR 3) is added to above acupoints and a reducing technique is applied to patients with liver qi stagnation and the needles are retained for 20 minutes. 2) Foot acupoints: At Stomach (FA-P8), Spleen (FA-P 10) and Stomach and intestine (FA-D 7) acupoints, a moderate twisting stimulation is applied and the needles are retained for 20 minutes, Liver (FA-P 9) acupoint is added for patients with liver qi stagnation, and moxibustion after acupuncture is applied to patients with qi and blood deficiency.
