A man there was once, Who thought of himself only.

Now he and his little ones, Were now without money.

So off he looked for the wise man, For his fate, he needed to seek.

A camel burdened with 2 sacks of gold, He chanced upon along the road. Please ask my fate too, the camel cried. Of course I will, the man replied.

And on he went until he came to a wide river, Where he met an alligator with a burning fever. The creature begged, Please ask my fate And he said, It will be my pleasure, mate

From a thorn on his paw, a tiger suffered. Please ask my fate, he painfully muttered. For no rest have I for 12 long years. For sure I will, please wipe your tears At last, the wise man he finally met.

And asked he all their fates, you bet.

For yourself only you thought. If the welfare of others fills your mind. Yours will be the wealth you sought, Dont forget though, to always be kind.

Finally the man understood, And hurried to go back to his brood.

From the tigers paw, a thorn he pulled. It gave him treasures a hundredfold. He fed some herbs and made the alligator well. It gave the man, the ruby which from its mouth fell. He removed the burden from the camels back. Relieved, it gave him gold the first, then the second sack.

All this wealth, the man did not abuse. For others good, it was always used. And to poverty he never again fell. Indeed, the wise man had taught him well.
