Iftheequipmentroomisequippedwithracksandantistaticfloorboards, usedownwardcablingmode.Ifupwardcablingmodeisused,needto installacablingrack/cablingladderattheupperpartofthecabinetand routethecablesinthecablingrack. Cablingpositionshouldbedesignedinadvance.Thecablesshouldbe arrangedorderly,andtheirskinshouldnotbedamaged. Externalcablesincludepowercables,tailfibers,trunkcables,andother signalcables.Cablesinthecablingrackshouldbecategorizedand bundled,shouldnotbecrossedeachother.Cablesshouldbefixedby cableties.Bundlingintervalshouldbe20cm. OnUMTSandotherCDMAnetworksaCommonPilotSignalChannel (CPICH)isusedtoestimatethequalityofthechannel,cellselectionand handover.ThisisnotnecessaryonGSMnetworks. ThepoweroftheCPICHsignaldefinesthecellcoverageandhasadirect impactonthecellcapacityandthequalityoftheservice. UsualCPICHsignalpowerisbetween30and33dBmanditsdinamically adjustedbythenodeBaccordingtothequantityofsubscribersattachedto thecell.Itwilldecreasepowerasmoresubscribersgetconnectedtothecell. Subscribersarevirtuallyattachedtoachannel.SeveralnodeBcanoverlapa pointwiththesamechanneltomakepossiblethesofthandoffofthe subscriberswhenmovingfromonecelltoanother.Subscribersremainon thesamechannelwhenmovesfromonecelltoanother. Whenlocatedontheoverlappedarea,asubscribermaybeconnectedto severalcellssimultaneously. ReceivingEqualpowerCPICHsignalsormultiplestrongCPICHsignalswith itsmultipathcomponentsformcellsthatdoesntbelongtothecurrentActive SetcausesPilotPollution OnPilotpollutedenvironments,signalingpowerconsumptionincreases, reducingthepoweravailableforsubcriberstrafficthecallestablishing processisaffectedandalsothedegradationofthequalityofthesignalis noticeable,thepilotpollutiondegradestheFrameErrorRate(FER)andBit Errorrate(BER)increasingthenumberofterminatedcalls. ExposingthejumperoftheUMTSantennatotherearlobeofaynantenna mayincreasethepilotsignalpower,generatingpilotpollution.
