Task : To present a business idea as a partnership Requirements: Your business idea must include: 1. Title of your idea 2. Description: What is the business idea? What does it look like? How is it different to other businesses? Why is this idea most suited to a partnership? What are the products or services offered within this idea? 3. Business practices: What is the shared vision and mission of the business? What are your expectations of each other? What are the strengths and limitations of each business partner? Name at least two company and individual goals. How will you handle disagreements? What is the job description of each partner? 4. Who are your target customers? 5. Sales method: face-to-face or internet based? 6. SWOT analysis: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats 7. Reflection of the idea: what could go wrong (working as partners) and how would you overcome it? Advice: Work with someone that shares the same passions as you. Make sure that you both fairly contribute. Format: Your business idea can be presented as a Microsoft PowerPoint or a professional looking poster (that must be larger than A4). Your presentation should go for a minimum of seven minutes, with each partner participating. Grading: This will be part of your in-class task grade for this quarter, therefore it is 3.3% of the 10% allocated for in-class tasks. This task will meet two of the MYP assessment criterion as detailed on the rubric.
Assessment criterion rubric Criterion A: Knowing and understanding, as per task sheet descriptors 8-7 Student demonstrated an excellent of knowledge and understanding of subject specific content and concepts. 6-5 Student demonstrated a good of knowledge and understanding of subject specific content and concepts. 4-3 Student demonstrated a fair of knowledge and understanding of subject specific content and concepts. 2-0 Student did not demonstrate knowledge and understanding of subject specific content and concepts.
