Pursuant to section 4.2 of Seeretary-Cieneral’s bulletin ST/SGB/1997/1, the Under-Secretary-General for Management amends as. follows administrative instruction ST/AU/189/Add.21, entitled “Regulations for the control and limitation of documentation — Addendum — Use of the United Nations emblem on documents and publications” 2. Section V and paragraph 25 are replaced by the Following text \V. Use of the United Nations emblem in documents and public bodies outside the United Nations system 25. When the United Nations participates in organizing a conference or meeting convened by an outside body or when the United Nations jointly Publishes" a publication with an outside hody/bodies, the emblem may be used, in combination with the name “United Nations”, if the emblems of other Participating bodies are so used on the documents of the conference or meeting, 6 on the publication jointly published with the outside body/bodies. 3. ‘The present instruction shall enter into force on 1 February 2008. In additvon the tem "jointly publishes” inthe context of this Administrative fstrvction shall be distinct and separate from the definition ofthe term joint publication”. as defined in section IT of Administrative Inseructon ST/ANTA9/Add 2 of 15 September 1971, entitled “Regulations forthe contol sod limitation of documentation — Addendum — Covers and title-pages of publications” 08.2 ik 200108 0 UNITED NATIONS ST @) Secretariat s1/soB/1997/1 28 May 1997 SRCRETARY-GRNERAL'S BULLETIN PROCEDURES FOR THE PROMULGATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE TSSUANCES* ‘The Secretary-General, for the purpose of establishing a more efficient system of administrative issuances in the United Nations and procedures for the promulgation and publication of such issuances, promulgates the following: Section 1 Categories of administrative issuances, 1.1 In accordance with the provisions of the present bulletin, the following administrative issuances may be promulgate (a) Secretary-General's bulletins; (b) Administrative instructions 1.2 Rules, policies or procedures intended for general application may oaly be established by duly promulgated Secretary-General's bulletins and administrative instructions. Section 2 Entry into force and effect of administrative issuances. 2.1 Administrative issuances shall enter into force upon the date specified therein and shall remain in force until superseded or amended by another adwinistrative issuance of the same or higher level and promulgated in accordance with the provisions of the present bulletin * Personnel Manual index No. 130 97-1408 (B) 300597 /
