This is Take?
Yes, this is Take Nishikawa. Is Noriko there?
Again? Noriko isn't here.
This phone number is 060-3321-3412, isn't it?
Yes it is.
I'm her ex-boyfriend.
But I don't know Noriko. I just bought this phone
yesterday.
Oh, is that right?
I'm really regretting it. It's been ringing all day.
Ringing non-stop. Who is Noriko? Is she some famous TV
talent? Maybe a celebrity?
Hmm, I'm not quite sure. Hmm, okay then. Thank you.
You're welcome.

Grammar Points
Today's grammar point is the auxiliary -ppanashi, which is attached to the masu
stem of verbs in spoken Japanese to indicate that something has been left in an
undesirable state. When the auxiliary ppanashi is attached the masu stem of a
verb, that word becomes a noun. To use the word as an adverb, it should be
followed by ni (as in example sentence #2). To use it as a verb, it should be
followed by a form of ni suru (as in example sentence #3).
Examples:
1.
2.
3.
