This site provides Innovative, new teaching materials and special education curriculums created and designed for students with learning differences, specials needs, autism, and developmental disabilities. Some of these are the following:

A. REAL-WORLD PICTURE WORDS ACTIVITY CARDS


This is developed by PCIs Janie Haugen-McLane, these curriculums and cards will teach 1200 everyday words. Students with limited or no reading skills will learn 200 words with each of the six titles. Activity cards are designed to be used with Real-World Picture Words Curriculum, but each set can also be used alone to teach and reinforce 200 everyday words.

B. SENTENCE FACTORY GAME


This motivates students to build "WH" sentences with Sentence Factory, by Rosie Simms. Game offers multiple play options to alter the level of difficulty. C. TOUCHMONEY GAMES (Touchmoney big coin activities) This is a game by PCI's TouchMoney Program that uses a proven kinesthetic approach to make learning to count coins quick and easy. Based on the idea that all coins except pennies can be counted using 5's, this step-by-step process helps students of all ages experience success with this essential life skill. Each component of the program is sold separately or may be purchased in sets or as a complete kit. D. READY-TO-USE CLASSROOM KITS (Reading Supplemental Bundle IDD) This is a kit by PCI that provides research-based, nationally-recognized special eduation products that are designed and created specifically for students with special needs, learning differences, and struggling learners.

These bundles are ready-to-use classroom solutions that are easy to implement.

2. Intervention Kits
SOURCE: http://blog.maketaketeach.com/intervention-kits/ This site provides many of the strategies, ideas, and activities in making a difference in improving student learning by developing intervention plans for students at-risk for reading disabilities. This site uses assessment data to guide classroom instruction as well as intervention for at-risk learners. Make, Take & Teach is a way of providing teachers with the materials they need for their small group intervention and differentiated literacy centers.

3. Paths to Literacy for students who are blind or visually impaired

SOURCE: http://www.pathstoliteracy.org/ This website is the result of a joint project between Perkins School for the Blind and Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (TSBVI). By combining their resources and expertise, they hope to assist educators and families in the quest to provide literacy experiences for children who are blind or visually impaired. The information on this site ranges from a basic overview of literacy to various stages of development and special challenges, as well as an exploration of different media (print, braille, auditory strategies). They encourage people to add ideas and questions, so that the site will be an interactive hub of resources. This site is intended to be an online hub for information related to literacy for students who are blind or visually impaired, including those with additional disabilities or deafblindness. It includes original content, as well as links to other sites and resources available on the web. Some materials have been summarized, with a link to the full resource.

4. Friendship Circle Blog (Special Needs Resources for Parents and Educators SOURCE: http://www.friendshipcircle.org Friendship Circle of Michigan is a non-profit organization that provides programs and support to the families of individuals with special needs. In addition to assisting individuals with special needs, Friendship brings together teenage volunteers and children with special needs for hours of fun and friendship. These shared experiences empower the children, our special friends, while enriching the lives of everyone involved. With over 75,000 visitors a month, the Friendship Circle Special Needs Resource blog is one of the biggest special needs blogs in the world. Currently the blog has over 500 articles on special needs topics including: parenting, special education, products, therapy tips, videos and more.

5. Connecting Special Education and Technology SOURCE: http://setconnections.org/ This site promotes the use of technology as a solution for special education. The purpose of SET Connections is educational; to promote an overall understanding of technology and its benefits and to then assist in utilizing technology to improve the field of education with an emphasis on special education. The organization will initiate and encourage ideas and activities which support this endeavor.

6. iHelp (Special Needs Kidshelping our children grow) SOURCE: http://ihelpsnkids.blogspot.com.au/ The aim of iHelp SN Kids is to showcase people that are out there worldwide!, showing initiative by 'pounding the pavement' and fundraising for an iPad or other SN Equipment for their child with Special Needs. By featuring them on here, they will gain more exposure and therefore reach their fundraising goal faster.
