Week Assessment Outline Beginning: 8th September Business idea- sole trader

Students are to work independently to come up with a business idea as a sole trader and present it to the class as a business idea. A case study of the dragons den and Levi straus was examined to aid this process.

Students are to work in pairs to come up with a business idea for a partnership and present it to the class. Students are provided with a rubric to follow for their presentation.

22nd September Exam (No, One)

Students will sit three summative written assessments during the quarter. These assessments will examine students knowledge and understanding of core concepts and standards in the form of MCQ, short response, and interpretation questions. Newspaper report Students are to write a newspaper report on the presentations of the partnership business ideas in class.

Students are to choose a form of ownership and work in pairs to research their chosen company under the provided guidelines, as per the task sheet, there as a reflection element included in the grading post task.

Dragons den task Students were presented with two different examples of entrepreneurs on the dragons den, students were to watch these video clips and report on the business ideas. The compare them, and decide that if they were a dragon which business would they invest in and why. Public Sector Students are to choose one public sector company from a list of companies in the Abu Dhabi area and research its company set up under six headings that were examined in class.

Students will sit three summative written assessments during the quarter. These assessments will examine students knowledge and understanding of core concepts and standards in the form of MCQ, short response, and interpretation questions. Franchise task Students are to read the case study about Twitter and Facebook, which examines the growth of a company and how the internet has led to their success. Then students are to interpret the article through a series of case studies.

Students are to choose an entrepreneur from the UAE and research them using the task outline provided in the task sheet. Then they must compile their data and output their findings in the specified business report format studied in class.
