What is an Explorer? Show class 6 the Antarctic Explorer table worksheet. With explorers: DM, RA, ES & RS (ea group assigned an explorer) Practice run with DM: When, What, Where & other When: 1907 1909 What: first to climb Mt Erbus Where: Mt Erbus, Antarctica Other: He joined Shackletons British-Antarctic Expedition Once ea group obtains 3 facts per question teacher discloses a secret code (YouTube link to view their explorer) Class participates in example of Douglas Mawson Teaching Approaches Class on floor Teacher instructs Spelling Game: two students, winner remains, loser rotates with other students
