E20-II Software Training

2007 Courses and Schedule

HAP Basic Training
This is a hands-on session covering the basic operation of the Hourly Analysis Program (HAP). Training covers cooling and heating design loads with an introduction to energy analysis. The user learns the fundamentals of weather data, scheduling of loads, inputting building parameters, and modeling of the various air systems and plants. Schedule: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Course No: SSN0001 (0.8 CEUs) Tuition: $300.00 US

HAP Advanced Training

HAP Advanced Training focuses on building energy simulation. Training covers in-depth, hands-on operation of energy analysis including simulation weather, energy profiles, air systems, plant performance, utility rate modeling, and includes analysis of multiple building scenarios. Schedule: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Course No: SSN0002 (0.8 CEUs) Tuition: $300.00 US This intense 2-day class provides an overview of sustainable development and focuses on the LEED Certification process with emphasis on LEED-NC EA credit 1.1, Optimized Energy Performance. Advanced HAP techniques are applied to Option 1, Whole Building Energy Simulation and ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2004 requirements. Training covers in-depth, handsNew for on application of baseline and proposed building energy analysis and includes development of creative HVAC system 2007 alternatives for greater LEED-NC points. Attendees should be familiar with HAP load estimating and energy simulations as well as LEED-NC EAc1 and ASHRAE 90.1-2004 Appendix G. Schedule: 2-days, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Course No: SSN0005 (1.6 CEUs) Tuition: $800.00 US

HAP for LEED Certification Training

Engineering Economics Analysis Training

This -day workshop-based class covers the basic operation of the E20-II Engineering Economic Analysis program. Comparison of lifecycle cost economics for alternative commercial building HVAC system designs will be covered. Attendees will learn how to apply the program to four economic analysis scenarios (1) simple payback analysis, (2) simple cash flow analysis, (3) private sector lifecycle cost analysis, and (4) public sector lifecycle cost analysis. Schedule: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Course No: SSN0004 (0.4 CEUs) Tuition: $150.00 US

Block Load Basic Training

This -day hands-on session covers the basic operation of the Block Load Program. Each student will learn how to use the program by completing several simple project exercises including definition and input of design weather data, construction materials and HVAC system parameters, interpretation of load calculation reports, and how to determine HVAC equipment size. Schedule: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Course No: SSN0003 (0.4 CEUs) Tuition: $150.00 US

Block Load Estimating for Contractors Training

Load estimates are normally required for equipment sizing on all new commercial construction and a load estimate can significantly impact equipment selection on remodels and replacement projects. A block load estimate can help quickly determine proper equipment sizing provided by the HVAC contractor or design engineer. This course will review the New for fundamental concepts required for a commercial heating and cooling load estimate. Participants will learn to use the Carrier 2007 Block Load program to perform a load estimate. Hands-on workshop examples will cover weather data, defining zones, construction materials, internal and external heat sources and HVAC system effects. New construction and renovation projects are used and tips will be provided on how to quickly input data and evaluate results. Schedule: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Course No: SSN0006 (0.8 CEUs) Tuition: $300.00 US
