THE AMAZING SOCCER GAME

My heart was beating really fast because today was the big game against Yarra Jets FC. They were first on the ladder and it was time to beat them. When our team went into the hot and smelly change rooms it was silent dead quiet. Everyone was really concentrating on they were going to put in the game I was thinking the same. Today my coach Andrew put my friend Simon and I in the back line so we needed to play hard and we have to tackle and communicate and not let any soccer balls come past us. My other fast friends Luke and Riley were playing in the midfield so they had to be sharp on the ball and take a lot of shots at goal. This will be a great game, I thought. Eventually the game was about to start. After doing some warming up and stretching. The whistle blew and my heart was beating fast. Luckily our team had the ball so my nerves came down a bit. Luke had the ball at the time and flashed and passed to our tall striker Tony. He had the ball and ran it down the field; he passed it to our talented winger Jacob he speeded down the line and he was going to cross the ball in the box. Looking for a header, Jacob crosses the ball in and it passes everyone but Tony comes in the back post and headers the ball in. It was an amazing goal. The parents on the side line were cheering. Jets had the kick off and they certainly did not look happy, I thought. Jets kick off and went straight into action. Jets were off and the ball was on the other side of the field and I thought Vincent this is your time to shine. But when the player came to me he passed the ball to his team mate on the other side he passed Simon and he was offside and the silly dumb reff did not call it and the kid sadly scored a goal. We had to come back! The score was 1-1 and it was rangers kick off. BEEP! The whistle blew. My nerves were rushing as the ball came down. It was coming to me so I did my defending job by booting the ball out when its in danger. I kicked the ball team mate riley. He ran the ball up the line. Riley took on ten players amazingly and had a shot IT WAS A GOAL! Rangers were in front by one goal. We had to keep it up. It was Yarra Jets kick off but eventually the reef blew the whistle. We had one the game. After that we sang our theme song and went home happy.
