Nikolas M The time is always right to do the right thing

Martin Luther King Jr. was born on the 15th January, 1929. His birth name was actually Michael Louis King. At the age of 5 he changed his name to Martin Luther King Jnr, to be named after his father. His mothers name was Coretta Scott. He has got a brother (Alfred Daniel Williams King) and a sister (Christine King). When Martin was 6 he had two white friends. He loved playing with them. One day they said they couldnt play with them because he was black. After that day knew what he was going to do with his life. In Year 6 at the age of 12 he tried to commit suicide by jumping out a second storey window of his house because his grandmother died of a heart attack. He truly loved her and missed her. Growing up as a black person was hard. It was hard because they always had to put white people first. It wasnt fair. There were white only signs on shops and buildings. They werent allowed in the same pools, beaches, shops and churches. Martin Luther King Jnr went to Booker T Washington High School. He skipped grades 9 and 11 and was elected to be student president. He graduated when he was 15 years old in 1944. He went to Crozer College. He became a Baptist pastor in 1955 at a church in Montgomery, Alabama. He began to start saying speeches. Nearly all his speeches are about equality and fairness to all skin colours. He didnt want white only places or that you have to get out of your seat on a bus for a white person (which he had experienced for himself). He wanted black people to be treated fairly. People began not to like him. So some people tried to kill him. He knew that people started to try to kill him and he didnt care, he continued to say speeches and stood up for whats right. Martin Luther King Jnrs speech named I have a dream was made at Lincoln Memorial on the 28 th of August 1963. Over 250,000 people attended (both black and white people) When Martin got back to Memphis he checked in to a hotel. James Earl Ray studied martin from the newspaper. He hated black people, and he had a gun. On April 4, 1968 Martin Luther King Jnr. Was assassinated by James Earl Ray (Martin was shot dead). His inspiration was Mahatma Gandhi because he put on a peaceful act and he respected that. In my opinion, I think that Martin Luther King Jnr. should always be remembered because he changed America to a fairer place.
