Take up one Sample Garment. ( Preferable two) Analyze whatever applicable from below and

develop prototype.
Students should be grouped with two group

members.
No group should take up similar garments.

Product Analysis & Development

1) To identify and analyze fabric, prints/embroidery, trims. 2) To identify the sources of raw materials, the minimum order

quantity and price.

3) To understand minimum order quantity, delivery time,

costing, fabric testing procedure, flowchart, patternmaking and construction of the sample garment.
4) To develop the prototype and control the quality of garment

by using correct and effective information of patterns and construction.

5) To understand the sampling procedure for any garment

Analysis by testing in the lab Fiber , Yarn, Weave

1. For Fiber contents, 2.

Yarn counts,

3. TPI, 4. Type of weave, 5. EPI & PPI, 6. probable m/c used, 7. GSM etc.

Development of Specification Sheet

1. For Fiber contents, 2.

Yarn counts,

3. TPI, 4. Type of weave, 5. EPI & PPI, 6. probable m/c used, 7. GSM etc.

Analysis and testing of whether dyeing is done in Fiber /Yarn/Fabric stage,

Dyeing --what kind of machine used in

dyeing,
development of sample (taking similar or nearly similar fabric) with colour matching. Testing of Fastness (As many as possible)

Where that fabric can be sourced (At least two

sources) and
price keeping in mind the minimum order

quantity and deliver time
