Profile of Mr. Mahmood Osman Imam Mr. Mahmood Osman Imam, MBA, Ph.

D, FCMA, is currently working as the Professor (since April 2003) and served as Chairman (January 2007-January 2010), Department of Finance, University of Dhaka. He is the Director, Bureau of Business Research, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka. He is also the Executive Director, Center for Corporate Governance and Finance Studies, University of Dhaka (since July 2004) and the Editor, Journal of Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (since January 2003). Currently he is also on the Board of Directors, ICB AMCL and founder director, Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market. He is also a member of External Advisory Committee of Emerging Credit Rating Limited, an Independent house of risk management. Dr. Imam is a financial analyst and capital market specialist. He has over 24 years of working experiences in this field. He has completed his Ph.D in Applied Economics and MBA (major in Finance) at K.U. Leuven, Belgium. His doctoral dissertation title is Choice of IPO floatation methods in an asymmetric information framework and Pricing of Belgian IPOs in the long run. He also has completed his CMA from the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB), Dhaka and B.Com (Hons.) and M.Com in Finance from the University of Dhaka. In his long tenure of career, he worked as national and international consultants with a number of both national and international organizations, viz., World Bank; ADB; UNDP; Bilance, Netherlands; Pohl Consulting Ltd, Germany; Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE); Ontario Centre for Environmental Technology Advancement (OCETA); Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and CIPE, USA, ERRA PROJECT. He also worked with Independent University Bangladesh; Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh; North-South University, East-West University, Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM); Bangladesh Institute of Management (BIM). He is prolific researcher having more than 15 articles exclusively on capital market areas. To his credit, there are also two published research monographs.
