PAPAS SPEECH Good morning/afternoon everyone! I am Gilbert Amparado. I am 54 years old and I am from Naga City.

I grew up in Baybay Samar but I established my family in Bicol. I am happily married to Romana Quinto for 30 years now and we were blessed with two children. My sons Neil and Jay-ar are both in the police force. None of my children are married yet that is why I still dont have a grandchild. My hobbies include jogging and taking care of our little poultry and piggery. My life is devoted to the three most important persons or things; God, my family and my work as a law enforcement officer. I believe in the Supreme Being, our Great Provider and Creator. I acknowledge the fact of His greatness and His love for me that He has always kept us through the problems and obstacles. Without His guidance and blessings I wouldnt be where I am today. My love and fear of God lead me to be a better person and a better policeman. My family is my reason for living and striving. I am a family man and I made sure that I was able to instill the right values and morals of a good person worthy of respect in the community. My wife and I worked hard to provide for their basic needs and education. In fact, even to this day we still do. I did not enroll myself to training/schooling such as this, thus forestalling my application for promotion, because I wanted to make sure that my presence was felt in the family. It is only now that I was able to find time to come here because all of them are already working and they can already look after themselves in my absence. Lastly, I devote myself to the solemn oath to protect and serve, and to conduct myself with utmost integrity, morality and justice. I have been in the service for ____ yrs now and I know fully well the hardships, dangers and perils that go with our badge. But despite all those, it did not deter me from doing my work conscientiously and with a happy heart. Because I know that when you love and respect your job, it will respect and love you back. I take pride in saying that the food I placed on the table to feed my family was derived from hard and honest work. And this is the legacy that I will leave with my children; to always conduct themselves respectably and to value their work.

I will no longer make my speech very long. Thank you for this opportunity that I was able to share a little of myself to you. Once again, good morning/afternoon.
