Goal
When you enter a Sales Order Line Quantity which is greater than the currently available onhand quantity, you want the system to behave in a particular way. You need a message like, " Quantity on hand fails to satisfy reservation" to appear when the Order is Saved or Booked so that the user knows that the required quantity is not available, and they will stop the order from progressing further. The end requirement is to prevent partial Order Line shipment. Is it possible to achieve this?

Fix
Please do the following: 1. Please navigate to Setup>System Parameters>Values and ensure that the parameter "Allow Partial Reservation" is set to No 2. Please navigate to Setup>System Parameters>Values and ensure that the parameter "Reservation Time Fence" is set to 0 3. Ensure that the field "Scheduling Level" (under Shipping tab) of both the Order Type and also the Order Line Type is set to a Value of "Allow All scheduling Actions"

4. Finally, please ensure that profile "OM: AutoSchedule" is set to 'Yes' at Site Level Now when you try to create and save a Sales Order for which the available stock is less than the ordered quantity on the Line, you should get a message saying that " Quantity on hand fails to satisfy reservation"
