experiences and attempts to posit issues and propose processes for handling
thesame
At the seminar, et us get together, discuss and debate how the current
economic meltdown impacts the roles men and women play both at home
and at work. What are some of the obstacles men and women face while
working together? Are these obstacles a result of gender differences, a variant
Understanding of gender competencies, a consequence of having differing sil
sets or an outcome of following a varying set of rules and policies for men and
wornen within the organisation?
While Diversity and inclusivity cells are being introduced by companies to
manage the talent pool and resource crunch there stil exists a need to explore
the following questions:
+ What is the success rate of the introduction of gender-friendly
policies?
+ Has the academia through research, interventions and policy
audits made significant contributions?
+ What is the government doing to address gender concerns?
+ How have civil bodies addressed gender issues?
+ What is the way forward?
Substantial work on gender issues has been done by different stakeholders.
While the focus for each has been different, there isa thread of commonality
which strings together the efforts across domains and sectors: the need to
amend, change, and forty existing policies, procedures and processes,
Ifthatbe the call of the hour let us move ahead, collate and collaborate to bring
to the table our findings and experiences. IMA, as a thought and action leader,
