Transformational grammar is an approach to the use of grammar in communications that involves a logical and analytical process to fully grasp

the meaning behind the words selected. It also focuses on the proper construction of sentences and it will also attempt explore the thought behind the words. Transformational grammar attempts to apply logic to the task of looking into the deeper meanings of the structure of sentences, and to analyze both the surface and the underlying intent of the words used. The importance of transitional grammar is that it provides a logical approach to analyzing syntax. Noam Chomsky wrote a book called Syntactic Structures, in which he told about his idea that each language has two levels of representation, a deep structure and a surface structure. Chomsky believed that there would be similarities between languages deep structures and that the languages would reveal properties common to all languages. Basically transformational grammar is important because it helps people to better understand the language that they are using. It helps explain the language in detail, from whole papers all the way down to each specific word. It also allows a person to be able to write more grammatically correct sentences, which will allow them to write better papers.
