Executive Committee recruitment, Semester 2, 2013


I. About Us Mission statement Banking on Women strives to be the premiere club dedicated to female students at the University of Melbourne, with the key objective of developing members professional skills and helping them in becoming future leaders of the financial services world. We are one of the 17 FBE-affiliated student societies and have had a tremendously successful inaugural semester. We are now looking for driven and enthusiastic female talents to expand our executive and sub-committee teams. Aims and objectives 1. To promote awareness of the financial services industry and encourage interest in this career pathway amongst young women; 2. To empower young women interested in pursuing a career in banking through industry-specific education and unique platforms for discussion; 3. To provide young women with the opportunity to interact with female role models in the industry through exchanging ideas and experiences; 4. To encourage leadership, initiative and intellectual conversation amongst young female talents through building and strengthening a toolkit of skills suited to working in the financial services industry; and 5. To distinguish and highlight female presence in the banking industry through fostering a supportive and motivating environment for learning.

II. Executive committee recruitment the specifics Eligibility 1. You must be a female student within the Faculty of Business and Economics 2. You must not be in your final semester of studies 3. Position details 1. Finance Director As the Finance Director you will be responsible for keeping track and maintaining the clubs financial health. You will be involved in the book-keeping of the clubs financials as well as budget allocation and reimbursement. You will liaise with the President, Vice President and Secretary on a regular basis and support Sponsor Relations Directors. We are looking for someone who pays attention to detail and ideally with an accounting background. 2. Communications Director As the Communications Director your key responsibility is to reach as large a member base as possible. You will utilise a range of tools to promote and raise awareness of the club, including social media and advertising on campus. You will take charge of designing and making marketing materials such as posters for our events. You will form a close partnership with the President and Events Directors with regards to promotional strategies and materials. Being tech-savvy would be an added bonus. 3. Sponsor Relations Director As the Sponsor Relations Director, you will form a close partnership with the President and Vice President to oversee the sponsorship aspect of the club and be involved in sustaining strong and cooperative relationships with our sponsor firms. These include having regular correspondences with HR / Campus Recruiters of several investment banks, managing the distribution of their marketing materials through BoW and accommodating business representatives at events. You will be a spokesperson and ambassador for the society to our sponsors. We are looking for someone who has strong organisation, time-management and multi-tasking skills.

4. Events Officer As the Events Officer you will form a strong relationship with the Events Directors (executives of your portfolio) to initiate, arrange and take charge of club events throughout the year. You will work with the Communications team and HR / Campus Recruiters of our sponsors to ensure the smooth-running, relevancy and effectiveness of events. Additionally, you will liaise with the FBE Careers Officer for some workshop related events. We are looking for someone who is confident, creative and organised with strong teamwork skills. 5. Communications (Marketing) Officer As one of the Communications Officers you will collaborate closely with the Communications team (including the executives and sub-committee members of your portfolio) to increase awareness and publicity of our club and events. You will be in charge of originating and organising marketing materials around FBE, as well as the communication with our members. We are looking for someone who is well-spoken, motivated and committed to boost our clubs reach within the faculty. 6. Communications (IT) Officer As one of the Communications Officers you will collaborate closely with the Communications team (including the executives and sub-committee members of your portfolio) to increase awareness and publicity of our club and events. Specifically, you will take lead in running social media campaigns for the club via our website and Facebook page, including distributing and updating information on our events and opportunities at our sponsor banks. You may also be given responsibilities to put together advertisements such as posters and brochures. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about social media marketing.

III. IV. Interview availabilities form Please fill in yes for all time slots in which you are available.
