Page 1 Modified Matchbox Plans

Homemade Puzzles

These plans, supplied by Peter Wiltshire, are to build The Matchbox puzzlebox as a cube, measuring 2-3/4" each way, if you use wood that is 1/4" thick. You can make this cube just about any size, by using wood of a different thickness. All the dimensions are shown as multplies of "T", which represents the thickness of the wood you are using.

Insert the panels into the box, starting with the left panel. The longer space between the outer and runner panels should be at the bottom. Do not push them all the way in. The runner of each piece slides between the rails. When all the panels are in, close the box up, moving each panel in turn. The last panel to close will be the left panel.

Notice the longer space

The completed box.
