Procedures: Blog entry Day 1 Students will form 2 person groups that they will work with through the next 3 activities. Each group will make up a team name Students will download the cloudon app onto their phones. This is where they will take their notes throughout each activity. Each group will go to www.dropbox.com and register for the class dropbox. Set up a team folder in the dropbox. Always submit your material to your team folder. After the students have completed these tasks, they will be prepared for the next 3 assignments. The first activity can begin. Students will watch and listen to youtube videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NssmNlJxg7o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuVszvf_f6c http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktetwidMiEw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bgJczoh1O4 Students will research websites to identify the 5 components of fitness. Day 2 Each group will review their previous findings in their notes created on their cloudon app and EACH student will write a 2-3 paragraph response explaining the 5 components of fitness according to the videos that they watched and websites they researched. Write the response on a word document and copy and paste it to the class blog. Class blog website www.vanderweerdpe.weebly.com Webquest Day 3 Students, in their previously formed groups, will go to the following webquest link http://questgarden.com/157/00/1/130329173202/ and navigate through the webquest. Students will work with partners and do the webquest on the 5 components of fitness. While doing the webquest they will research and discuss with their partners the 5 components of fitness as they move through the webquest. Students will do the webquest that leads them through the research of the 5 components of fitness and the F.I.T.T. acronym. Students will take notes on their findings on the cloudon app on their smart phone. Submit the notes to the class dropbox to show that work has been done. Day 4 Based on the students findings in the webquest, using their notes from the previous class, the students will answer the questions at the end on a word document demonstrating their understanding of the 5 components of fitness and copy and paste them to the class blog. Wordle Day 5 Students will go to www.wordle.net and I will show them examples of how to create a wordle. Students will collect their findings of the 5 components of fitness and create a wordle. Students will take their first blog submission and copy and paste it into the wordle creator. Then take that wordle creation and paste it onto the original word document that the wordle was created from. Then do the same for the webquest word document. Submit the two wordle creations to the dropbox. Short Movie Students will join with another group so that groups are now made of 4 students. Students now need to download the iMovie app onto their phone. Show the students a good idea of how to create their ideas and write down their ideas (brainstorming and creating a direction of their movie) that will encourage a direction and final goal of their movie. Show an example of what the end goal of this project is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bgJczoh1O4 Day 6 Students will get in their groups and begin to develop a plan for a short movie that they will create about the 5 components of fitness. The groups must come up with a Team Name (group name). Students will classify each individual component of fitness and make a movie on iMovie. Each student will perform one of the components of fitness when developing their iMovie. then the component needs to be shown through pictures and the student needs to narrate the activity. Day 7 Students will work in groups and continue to brainstorm and plan the direction of their movie. Students will work together while developing their movie on the 5 components of fitness. Day 8 Students will begin to create and film their short movie. Day 9 Students will complete filming, edit, and prepare their final production. Day 10 Groups will present their final production by connecting their phone to the classroom projector. Product: (Give an explanation of what the final product will be explaining what the students are coming away with) Blog entry Students will begin to gain knowledge of the 5 components of fitness Intelligences: Verbal/Linguistic Intrapersonal Visual-Spatial MusicalRhythmic
