QUESTION THE ACCEPTED WISDOM

When we were born, we belong to a family and a community, these groups of people teach us how the world works, later we grow up and we become an adult, we acquire intelligence and we can make ones own opinions about many topics, however, we only talk about with property about issues that we already know. To create new knowledge we have to question everything that is accepted. Since the seventeenth century science and knowledge have been played a very important role in human life from economics, physics, mathematics and many other areas. However once that knowledge is accepted by society, is difficult to change that accepted knowledge for a new one. Scientific theories are very static and rigid, when a new experiment is made, it finds resistance by other scientist or by the ordinary people for they believe on what they know, new knowledge is dangerous for a rigid mind. Fortunately, young minds are always innovating and creating new knowledge. Why is it important to question the accepted wisdom? When we question that, we are forcing to change and we are creating new paradigms and breaking the old ones, the best example to illustrate this is the comprehension of physics problems, for centuries scientist used Newtonian theories to explain the world behavior, but in 1930 one young man create the relativity laws and change completely our knowledge of the rules that governs the universe. The real contribution of wisdom is the application of knowledge into practical things by technology, technology have changed the world since 1800s, the train, the car, electricity, and actually the computer. As a result life has become easier and we as humans have a better quality of life. The incessant curiosity and the capacity to create and manipulate our environment have become mankind into the dominant specie in the planet. Fortunate or unfortunately we are creating our destiny.
