Elementary Students A. Mathematics Course Class Goals A. Through the study of arithmetic students will know more about the character of God Who created them. B. Students will develop a firm foundation in arithmetic based on absolute truth as created by an orderly, rational God. C. Students will understand the need for exactness, preciseness and completeness by strengthening the mind. Colossians 3:23 D. The students will learn to think from the concrete to the abstract, from the particular to the general, and from content to concept. E. Students will improve in the four basic operations of arithmetic and become familiar with the vocabulary of the subject. F. Students will develop an ability to solve mathematical problems so that they will be better able to serve the Lord. Class Management A. Students must be respectful of classmates, teacher(s), substitutes, administration, and staff at all times. B. When working in groups, when assigned, it is imperative that everyone participates and that every student in the group completes their share of the work. C. Students are to always maintain their covenantal agreement as per the Class Constitution especially in the areas of Attitudes and Actions. D. Self-government is the norm not the exception. ALWAYS SELFGOVERN YOURSELF!! Communications will be issued for students that are not prepared for Homework not passed in on time; Notebook not passed in on time; improperly dressed; and not prepared for class (pen, pencil, paper, book, etc.). (Family Manual p. 23) Corrections A. Reflection: First it is important that students recognize the importance of correcting assignments. The goal is for students to learn from their mistakes and not reproduce such mistakes on test. B. All homework assignments, quizzes and test must be corrected. Notebook Method A. Each student is required to have a 2 binder for class. Students may select the color of their binder. B. Students will need 5 Tab Dividers. C. Notebooks will be checked and graded at the end of each quarter. Areas of evaluations include: completeness, order, and neatness, and corrections. D. Notebooks will be graded at the end of each quarter per Notebook Standards per the Family Manual.

E. Your involvement in reviewing your childs notebook is both welcomed and encouraged. VI. Grading Standards A. Students will be graded on Assignments, Quizzes and Tests as per Standards set by the school. Please refer to the Family Manual. B. Late penalties apply as per stated in the Family Manual. Communications A. Students will receive a communication for missed assignments, dress code infractions, and lack of preparation, incomplete assignments, unsatisfactory homework assignments, quizzes and test. B. Communications are submitted and logged by the school secretary, which passes the information onto administration. C. Parents are sent an email notification that a communication was issued. D. Please keep you email information current with the office.
